It has been a year since I last wrote something =(
Lots of changes in that time:
If you had to teach something, what would you teach?
I would teach people the importance of being kind and loving each other. Too many people focus on the things they don't like rather than the things they do. As a whole, we spent more time and energy on our negative emotions than the positive.
Once again I have gone far too long with posting an update of some kind. One of the things I want to accomplish in the new year is doing a better job of keeping of with these kinds of things and create deeper connections with the people that read them. Along those lines, I reactivated my Facebook page, I updated my LinkedIn profile, I'm updating my blog again :)
Lots of things have been happening in our world:
A lot has changed since the last time I posted an actual update. Danielle now spends her days at home with Kaylee. The two of them are really enjoying it. This lets Danielle focus on school and gives Kaylee more fun-time with her parents. =)
I've never been one of those people who thinks my wife should stay home, taking care of the house our children. I still don't. What I do think is that if it is possible and she wants to stay home with our children, she should be able to. We've worked out butts off and have been blessed so that she now able to do this.
These days work isn't near as busy as it was a few months ago when I travelling everywhere installing wireless networks. Right now I'm supporting a network operations group at rather large organization. It is a really good experience due. Thousands of users. Tens of locations worldwide. Nice variety of technologies in place. Plus I get to work a good group of guys and study when I'm not busy.
Even though I'm not as busy with work today, I'm grateful the school semester is over next week and that it will be one less thing for me to worry about. If you have the opportunity to take an online class covering technology, don't. I like to consider myself fairly competent when it comes to technology, but I take classes so someone can show me what it is I need to know. I'm bad and view college classes as a shortcut way to learning something. I do a little reading, go to class and the instructor shows me what I actually need to know. So far my experience with online classes is I have paid for the privelage of reading a book. If you need or want interaction with an instructor or other students, take a regular class.

Shock! I'm actually posting. It has been so long.
Would you ever consider having your life taped for a reality show?
I wouldn't want to have my life taped for a reality television show. Mostly because the producers work hard with their writers to create an exciting or touching story. Which means they will either make you look really bad and messed up with no hope for redemption or the will make you have a really crappy life with redemption.
I hope everyone had safe and happy Independence Day celebration and weekend. I know we did.
We spent Friday with some family friends, grilling and hanging out by the pool. Kaylee pretty much spent the whole day outside. That little girl sures loves to run around, back and forth, here, there and everywhere. She also got to swim some. After spending a week at home alone with her mom and me, we could tell she was happy to get out around other people.
Other than that, not much has been going on. Kaylee was "sick" last week with Hand Foot and Mouth so Danielle and I stayed home with her all week. It was really nice to spend that much time with Kaylee doing fun things. It would have been nicer if we didn't have to worry about work.
Sunday was Father's day and it is was awesome! Danielle and Kaylee got me the coolest thing ever, a Garmin Forerunner 205. I'm training for the Wichita Marathon this October and it will come in handy. I always wonder how well I am training when I run outdoors and if my times really are what I think they are. This will make a big difference. I woke up early went for a run with it, it is nice to have immediate feedback.
We went to church like usual. Danielle sang with the band and I helped serve communion. Afterwards we went to my dad's house for lunch and to hang out for a while. Then we went home so Kaylee could take a nap.
Once Kaylee woke up we went to one of our favorite restaurants for a delicious Mexican dinner. Mmm, carnitas. Kaylee really enjoys chicken enchiladas, which is a good thing because Danielle and I both really enjoy Mexican food.
After dinner, we all went to the park to enjoy the beautiful weather. As usual, the little girl had a great time watching the ducks, climbing up and down the steps, swinging and climbing all over everything she could. Surprising this time she wasn't upset when we said it was time to go home. Most days, she screams and doesn't want to go. Sunday night she actually cooperated. It was a nice change.
People have lost their minds. Lately when I read or watch the news, I am amazed at how messed up people are these days.
